Winter Dawn at Atlin Lake, Original Print

This original print was taken in the most northerly town in British Columbia, at dawn on a cold winter morning. Atlin Lake, with Teresa Island and Birch Mountain.
You have to brave the coldest weather to catch the most beautiful sunrises in northern B.C. and the Yukon. Atlin Lake is the largest natural lake in British Columbia, Teresa Island has the highest elevation of any freshwater lake in the world, with Birch Mountain at 1875 metres (6153 feet) in the middle.
Directly west, across the coast mountains, is Skagway, Alaska. Atlin sits in the territory of the Taku River Tlingit indigenous people, and this area was overrun by gold miners in the 1800's. Both cultures are valued today and the character of Atlin reflects this.
